About the Corries

Cindy and Craig Corrie, founding board members of Rebuilding Alliance. They are parents of Rachel Corrie.

On March 16, 2003, the young American activist, Rachel Corrie, stood in front of an Israeli Army bulldozer to prevent the demolition of the home of a Palestinian family with whom she had been staying. The bulldozer driver had received, “Stop for no one” orders just half an hour before he crushed and killed Rachel Corrie. On September 10th, 2022, Cindy and Craig Corrie were presented with the Parrhesia Award for Rachel Corrie by Donna Baranski-Walker.

Cindy and Craig also presented the Parrhesia Award to the family of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. Many members of the Abu Akleh family were in attendance and her niece, Lina Abu Akleh, also delivered the keynote address.
