Advocacy Officer/Coordinator
Rebuilding Alliance is expanding our team of dedicated advocacy professionals to advocate for Palestinian human rights in a dynamic, expanding, team-oriented environment. We partner with Non-Governmental Organizations and experts in Palestine, Israel, and the United States to coordinate advocacy campaigns on a wide range of issues related to Israel/Palestine. We are seeking a motivated individual with a positive attitude and strong work ethic who is committed to the mission and enjoys working as part of a team.
POSITION: Full-time
LOCATION: Remote, with occasional travel. Work can be performed from your location. Must attend daily Advocacy Zoom Meetings and be able to work with Rebuilding Alliance coordinators in the U.S., Palestine, and Israel.
REPORTS TO: Director of Advocacy
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research: Assist in the compilation, organization, and drafting of resources for advocacy campaigns including:
Read and summarize daily reports from the region
Attend relevant webinars and meetings with partner organizations, the UN, etc.
Draft one pagers/backgrounders on congressional offices, campaigns, etc.
Arrange meetings with attorneys and translate documents (using Google Translate)
Draft correspondence for Congressional offices including scheduling requests, one-pagers.
Correspond with partners in activism/advocacy, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Draft correspondence for constituent outreach and invitations for briefings with their Congressional representatives.
Draft press releases
Draft social media posts and campaign summaries for RA’s social media accounts and website
Schedule governmental offices (including Congressional offices, embassies etc.), advocacy partners/guest speakers, and constituents
Optimize data collection and organization using Asana work management platform
Assist with team coordination, document organization, note-taking, and other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS
A commitment to RA’s mission to advance equal rights for the Palestinian people through education, advocacy, and support that assures Palestinian families the right to a home, schooling, economic security, safety, and a promising future.
Detail oriented – enjoys working methodically, with excellent proofreading skills
Office Management skills: familiarity with Zoom and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)
Well organized, efficient, and flexible/adaptable
Two years of experience especially focused on human rights and/or advocacy, and/or government
Diplomatic, with excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence.
Tech-savvy – familiar with or able to quickly pick up Asana, Google Suite, Squarespace, YouTube.
Fluency in Arabic and/or Hebrew is a plus. Fluency of written and spoken English required.
