Dear Friend,

Wow!  Thirty-nine newcomer Congresswomen and men, and 5 newcomer Senators are going to Capitol Hill in January!

Click Here Now
to invite your Representative and Senators to experience Palestine in December!

(there's even a special template for inviting Congressional newcomers)

Then,

  1. Call their office,

  2. Ask for their Scheduler, and

  3. Say, as a Constituent, that you've just emailed the invitation to join Rebuilding Alliance's Congressional Leadership Learning Mission to Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza — and you need an answer before Nov. 13th when Ethics Committee applications are due.

Of the following, please call incumbents and those who were reelected:

To contact the newcomers, please check your voting materials to send them the invitation by email and to follow-up with a phone call.   Again, call and ask for their scheduler, and tell them that, as a Constituent, that you are inviting them to on an expense-paid Congressional Leadership Learning Mission to the Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza on December 14-21st. The trip is sponsored by Rebuilding Alliance, a U.S. 501(c)3 nonprofit, in full accordance with House and Senate Ethics Committee rules.

Notably, the newcomers are able to visit Gaza prior to assuming office, without restriction. However, because incumbents and their staff are government employees, the State Department states they are not allowed to go.

Regarding timing, incumbents must send their application to the Ethics Committee a month before departure so there's only a few days left for them to sign up. With newcomers, because they're not yet sworn-in, the Ethics Committee confirmed that they do not require review — this means you have a bit more time to convince them to go.

Please email and call your Senators and Representative, including the newcomers, now.   Because you're a constituent in their State or District, you have the most influence in inviting them — you'll get an answer when you speak with their scheduler, and you may need to be er be persistent. Again, this is TIME SENSITIVE and we need their reply as soon as possible.

Please note: Rebuilding Alliance's Congressional Leadership Learning Mission is a Constituent Accompaniment Tour, so if you would like to your accompany your Senators or Representative and you can raise the funds to pay your own way, please click here to apply. The cost is $2700pp not including airfare.

As you hear back from your House and Senate offices, please call us at 650 651-7165 or send email to Contact@RebuildingAlliance.org.   We'll follow-up by also calling and providing your elected officials or their staff with the full itinerary.

Thank you again for your help. Your emails and calls today are crowd-based advocacy at its best!

Sincerely,
Donna Baranski-Walker
Founder and Executive Director, Rebuilding Alliance

P.S. Here is why this trip matters:

  • Just by visiting, your Senators and Representatives will help keep the Palestinian Bedouin village of Khan Al Ahmar standing a little longer and their questions will bring light to the village's own master plan and bring forward a really great win-win solution =) ;

  • They will clarify what it means now that the US has consolidated our Consulate to Palestine with our Embassy to Israel;

  • The newcomer Congresswomen and men and newcomer Senators, will see for themselves the impact of the US withdrawal of funding for food and schools in Gaza; and

  • They will meet and give hope to the many Palestinians and Israelis who work for justice and peace.
