Invite: Help a Palestinian child meet Congress

In July, I sent a scheduling request to all Congressional offices, asking to meet to discuss how to stop forced Palestinian displacement in Jerusalem and the West Bank. To my surprise, 200 Congressional offices replied, and Rebuilding Alliance has been holding 30 min Zoom calls with 5-10 House and Senate offices each day. On each zoom call, we’ve invited a guest speaker from each at-risk Palestinian neighborhood or a human rights group, and also constituents. So far, we’ve zoomed with senior staff at 63 House and Senate offices, both Democratic and Republican.

The next step is to show that constituents care about Palestinian lives and about Palestinian families.

Let’s take this NEXT STEP together:

Bringing Palestinian children to present their Pinwheels for Peace to Congress has been THE MOST EFFECTIVE ADVOCACY we’ve ever done. It previously inspired Senators and Representatives to intervene to keep the Palestinian villages of Al Aqaba, Susiya, and Khan al Ahmar standing.

Congress intervenes for Palestinian, house by house, neighborhood by neighborhood, when constituents ask — so let's ask now!

We're again inviting Palestinian children to make Pinwheels for Peace. One child, selected by his/her community, will be ready to Zoom with your Senator or Representative on Sep 21st, International Peace Day — and they need your help to schedule a Zoom briefing.

Yes, I'll Host a Zoom Briefing

This is a BIG Opportunity to host a Zoom Call with Your Senator or Representative
in 3 easy steps:

  1. Schedule a Zoom briefing with your Senator or Congressperson on International Peace Day, Sep. 21st. Invite them to personally meet with constituents and hear a Palestinian child who will call in from their neighborhood and present their Pinwheel for Peace.

Rebuilding Alliance will help you every step of the way by providing coaching, email templates, and contact info for the scheduler.

  2. Set a date for your Zoom Dry Run during the week of Sep. 13-17th, invite your friends to attend and invite their friends to join us to safeguard Palestinian homes.

    i. Rebuilding Alliance's team will invite you to a special coaching session to help plan your Zoom Dry Run and we’ll tell you more about the Palestinian child who will be presenting at your Zoom Briefing the following week, on International Peace Day, so you can learn what challenges their neighborhood is facing.

ii. At your Zoom Dry Run, you’ll ask fellow constituents on the call to introduce themselves and describe why they care.

iii. Make it a fundraiser: Ask everyone to raise funds for Rebuilding Alliance's
Movement to Safeguard Palestinian Communities. That week, GlobalGiving will provide a 50% match for donations up to $50.

  3. Support thousands of beleaguered Palestinian families by personally informing your members of Congress of the mass displacement the families are facing, and pressing your Senator and Representative to pick up their phone to make the destruction stop.

There’s nothing more powerful than when constituents ask Congress to reinforce a child’s dream of peace.
