Al Aqaba Kindergarten: Haj Sami's Dreams Made Real
With your generosity, Al Haq Kindergarten continues to provide quality education to children of Al Aqaba Village, Tubas, Tayasir, and nearby areas.
Currently, there are 60 children enrolled in kindergarten, down from 80 children last year. At one point, the kindergarten had as many as 150 children. Due to challenging economic conditions, many parents can no longer afford the tuition fees, which has made it difficult for the kindergarten to cover its costs. Many parents have relied on daily wages from work in Israel, but for over a year, they have not been allowed to enter the country and are struggling financially.
Despite the challenges, the kindergarten continues to offer a supportive learning environment to children:
Math, English, and Arabic lessons are taught to children through fun and play. The classes focus on developing essential skills and are taught using interactive games.
Due to a lack of funds, children have not been taken on any field trips. However, local police officers were invited to the kindergarten to guide traffic safety and awareness.
Through partnerships with local clinics, children and parents received health and hygiene education during health awareness sessions.
All teachers at kindergarten hold two-year diplomas in early childhood education and provide high-quality education and specialized support for each child.
Your assistance is crucial for us to maintain our efforts. The kindergarten is facing ongoing challenges in covering its operational costs, which include the salaries of four teachers, a weekly visiting counselor, and the kindergarten director. Additionally, the kindergarten bus incurs substantial daily costs of 350 shekels. Currently, tuition payments are insufficient to cover these salaries.
The kindergarten needs essential materials and learning resources, including new toys and educational tools, to enhance lessons and activities. Additionally, improvements to the facilities are necessary. Rawheya, the kindergarten director, aims to create a shaded outdoor area to provide a safer and more comfortable environment for the children, offering protection from harsh weather conditions. Your ongoing support allows us to address these challenges, making it possible to provide crucial early learning opportunities to local children.
Despite the challenges, the kindergarten has provided education, enrichment, and essential services to children and families in need—all because of you!
