A Ramadan Miracle
Ramadan Mubarak!
Through the generosity of donors like you, our Ramadan food campaign, In the Spirit of Ramadan: Gaza Emergency Food has raised 73K so far, 87% of its $84,000 goal. 1200 hundred families are having food for iftar, thanks to 546 donors.
Three months ago, as our team was considering the Ramadan food campaign, our four partner Non-Governmental Organizations in Gaza each identified 300 destitute families in their areas for a total 1200 needy families. Considering widespread poverty in Gaza, it was not surprising. However, in terms of fundraising, 1200 is a huge figure, twice as many beneficiaries as last year.
We decided to go ahead and support 1200 Gaza families this Ramadan, setting an ambitious goal of $84,000. It was our trust and confidence in you that let us this goal, knowing that you will support this cause wholeheartedly. After all, it is your care and concern for Palestinian communities that makes our work possible.
For weeks, our NGO partners in Gaza, Palestine, were busy filling the boxes with nutritious food items, stacking them up, and making them ready for Ramadan.
We vetted the vendors to conform with U.S. laws
It wasn’t easy to find K95 masks in Gaza — ten were included in each box, to help at-risk family members stay healthy
In Gaza, dozens of volunteers lent a hand, packing boxes and delivering
Our four partner NGOs in Gaza distributed the grocery boxes to wide acclaim!
Rebuilding Alliance took it on faith to distribute, even before the funds were raised.
I want to tell you about a girl and her family in the Oriba rural area near Rafah, Gaza. Kareem, a team member with one of our partner NGOs, the Women Program Center in Rafah, Gaza, met this family:
When Kareem delivered the grocery box, a mother spoke with him through tears of joy. She explained that she had just overheard her daughter praying to Allah, asking for food because they didn’t have anything to cook for iftar. Ten minutes later, Kareem knocked on the door. To their surprise, he brought a big box full of food, a two-week supply. The Mom said, “Thank you so much. I am speechless, you are making me cry. We’ll keep praying for you, Ramadan Mubarak, and a big thank you!”
Thank you for being part of a Ramadan miracle for this girl and her family. Thank you helping feed 1200 Gaza families this Ramadan.
In the Spirit of Ramdan just needs the last $10K to cover the cost. Thank you for making her prayers become a reality.
