Rebuilding Alliance Update

Dear Friend,

So far, over a half a million Palestinians from the North of Gaza have relocated to the South. During this Gaza crisis, you can help.

Give Now
to provide food and hygiene supplies to Gaza Families
and, where possible, water

Rebuilding Alliance's four Palestinian Non-Governmental Community Based Org partners* are buying locally on credit, with Rebuilding Alliance's promise of repayment when the ceasefire comes.

  • Our CBO partners buy $50 worth of food staples, water, and hygiene kits to give one bag per family

  • UNRWA School Shelters face a water emergency. While press is reporting that water will be restored to only the southern Gaza Strip, this has not yet happened. Our teams are ramping up to provide water tanks and cleaning supplies.

  • There's a rumor of that aid will now arrive from El Arish in Egypt — may this be true.

  • Working with their chicken farm supplier, the all-women chefs at Mrs. Najah's Kitchen are cooking and providing protein-rich meals to families relocating from the north, from Jabaliya and Gaza City.
    From Mrs. Najah this morning:
"So far, we made 600 meals through the war, providing food for 350 families. We've fed nearly 3000 people of which 2500 people are taking refuge in an UNRWA school and the others asked us for food simply because they don't have anything to eat."

Please help Gaza families get through unprecedented devastation and trauma.

We’ll keep you posted.

Sincerely,

Donna Baranski-Walker

* One of our CBO partners, the team at the Al Basma Club for the Disabled, is missing. This is our partner that serves the disabled community in the North, especially in Beit Hanoun. This was one of the first neighborhoods decimated in bombing. Please hold them and their fragile community in the light, in your prayers.

The Women Programs Center in Rafah began providing food bags inviting destitute families just a day after the bombing started

Sunday, Oct. 8th, Evening: RA's team opened Zoom meetings first with a friend at UNRWA who explained what would work well but where they might need help. Then we spoke with our CBO partners, asking for their input. They decided to start by providing $50 food bags to families taking refuge with relatives — we agreed each CBO would provide 50 bags, for a total promissory note commitment of $10,500 (including 5% overhead to the CBO's to cover their costs).

Thank you for your willingness to help.
