On Our Team:
Townson
Medical Advocacy Coordinator
I connect physicians, public health experts, humanitarians, and activists with policymakers to advocate for Palestinians’ right to health as part of Rebuilding Alliance’s Advocacy Team. Our team brings American doctors who traveled on medical missions to Gaza to speak to congressional offices via Zoom and in person. I also work with journalists from major media outlets to bring attention to health issues, especially in Gaza.
In March 2023, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). While I am currently in remission, this experience has made advocating for Palestinian cancer patients one of my main priorities.
I studied biology and public health at the University of Washington and am an incoming student at Columbia University where I plan to study Middle East history and Arabic. The history of modern Palestinian public health and medicine is a central interest and I’ve done extensive archival research on malaria in early twentieth century Mandatory Palestine.
I am eager to work with physicians, nurses, public health professionals, humanitarians, and activists, so don’t hesitate to reach out: advocacy@RebuildingAlliance.org
